The Blackburn Festival of Light drummers will be playing, and BLOWJANGLES too! With walkabout performances and light installations including the Pendulum from Travelling Light Circus – all bringing a festival atmosphere to Cathedral Square 👏
It’s part of a full day of entertainment including:
✨ Share Your Light – 5pm to 7pm
✨ Blackburn Cathedral Christmas Spectacular – from 7:30pm – tickets £10/U16s free
✨ Kerrang’d at The Firepit Tipis – from 8pm – no booking needed
Plus, there’s plenty of places for food and drink in Cathedral Square:
✨Checks and Greys – serving food 8.30am-7pm
✨ The Firepit – Blackburn – serving food 12-10pm
✨ The Firepit Tipis – open for drinks from 12 noon until 11pm
✨ Turtle Bay – serving food 11am-11pm
We’re so excited to be together with you all for another year and although there won’t be a parade, we’re looking forward to being in the town and seeing smiles on faces and bringing a little light into the lives of the people of Blackburn!

You can come and make paper bag lanterns and light up hats at our FREE drop-in workshops tomorrow (Saturday 16th December) in The Tipi’s at Cathedral Square from 5.30-7pm while ‘Shine Your Light’ is happening! So you’ll be exactly where you need to be as soon as you’re done making! ✨
The workshops are FREE however donations towards next year’s event would be much appreciated – your kind donations keep us able to do these events every year!
Any lanterns that were made with us at the willow lantern making workshops last weekend will need to be collected from The Tipi’s from 5pm. There will also be a small collection of willow LED lanterns available to buy from the Tipis from 5pm. Our ready-made lanterns are pay as you feel, minimum price £5. All proceeds go toward next years Blackburn Festival of Light!
