There are sooooo many ways you can get involved this year! Check out our workshops below and come and be part of an amazing event!

 

 

Free community workshops for adults and young people from age 14, or age 10+with an accompanying adult.

Samba drumming workshop and practice session.
Develop your drumming experience and learn new grooves to be part of a new Samba Street Band at The Bureau who will perform in the parade during the Festival of light on 15th December 2018.

Warning: fun and illuminated costumes may be part of the experience !

There is no charge as these are all funded sessions. These sessions are free to attend, funded by the National Lottery.  Contact  Bolton Music service for more info

 

 

Want to learn some fab moves for the parade? Fancy taking part in an illuminated dance performance at the Festival of light on 15th December ?
Join Gillian Burns, community dance artist, to create a performance piece at these weekly rehearsals. Dancers and non dancers of all ages are all invited to take part. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

There is no charge as these are all funded sessions, funded by the National Lottery.

Wear something that you can move in!

 

Come and join in a lantern making workshop  at The Bureau Centre for the Arts with a professional lantern artist to create a beautiful paper and willow lantern for the Lantern Parade on Saturday 15th December. These sessions are open to all, suitable for age 5-95, and are free, though there is a suggested donation of £3.

Not compulsory to come with a child!! This is a messy gluey activity, so please wear suitable clothing.

Make an individual lantern to take home after the parade or get together with a group to create a giant lantern as a group. Finish in a day or come back each week.
